    I used to have a similar problem, however the disconnects werent so often. I changed my ethernet card, tried a direct connect to the computer, got a new modem and it still happened. One guy came and looked at my lines, disconnected and reconnected them, and it has been pretty stable since.

    Have someone check out your signal, or get a new modem as ober suggested.

    Well my D-Link router works great! So does my Modem!

    The problem was in my LAN card.
    It took alot of poking around to realise that it wasnt the modem, router or my hardware.

    I checked all my internet settings to find out that the computer turns of the LAN card to save power for some reason. I unchecked the option and i haven't gotten a random disconnect for about 10Hr!!!!
