Thread: What's a good GUI library for C++?

I want to start learning some GUI library so I can start making sick applications. I mean console input outputs are fine but GUI applications are the real meat.

So what would you suggest?
-> What would you suggest for a newbie.
-> What would you suggest if the GUI library had to support GIF images, sounds.

Also what would you suggest for something like game development?
