well, problem solved...the BIOS needed to be flashed...should have done that myself...although there was a bad snowstorm up here the night before i took it to the computer store, so I diddn't really feel up to risking the mobo...anyway, thanks all

thats considered flashing, so i assumed you had already done it.It then erased the bios, and re-installed it from the CD.
sorry....phrased wrong. I was flashing it with the same bios that was already there...I needed the new bios.

Anytime you buy a new board or anything for a PC for that matter, check for updates. Most sit on the shelf long enough that updates are already available. Glad to see your back up and running cheap
