This question appeared on a discussion board from one of my classes...I'm posting it here, because no one responded yet, and I'm curious as well, thanks.
Hi all...
Could anyone here suggest a good Linux OS that'll run on a Windows machine without having to create a disc partition? I know of WinLinux, but I'm hoping there might be a few others out there. I'm hoping to be able to do some testing more here at home and save myself from having to do all testing in the labs.
I've got one machine running XP and one running 98 (yeah, I've been assimilated by Microsoft-- I blame my high school for creating my irrational hatred of Macs by forcing me to program on what were fairly slow Macs to begin with running Borland C++ in SoftWindows. I'm sure it was possible to find a way to make the machines run slower, but this certainly was up in the top percent of methods). If there's something out there that'd work on one or both, I'd really like to try it out.
Thanks all
