I'm not exactly sure why this has been happening, but every once in a while, all the icons on my desktop will get a strange square in the bottom left corner. Right now i have a "W" in the bottom of all my icons...I think I saw it in an application I was running earlier. My best explanation is that it's something my video card has caused, since it has proved to do some strange things. When I first got it installed (ATI Radeon 8500 something or other) I noticed also that the title bar of my windows will no longer blend from one color on one side to, say, a lighter color on the other (ex. dark blue-light blue). Actually it will, but after a little while it will go to a solid color. Another problem I've had, is that after running some fullscreen applications, my screen resolution seems to change from between 600x800 and 640x480 pixels. When I check the settings, it is still on 600x800 but my icons dont fit on the screen like they did before. None of this is really important, as all my games play well (and that's what counts, right?). I have a feeling NVIDIA is better, and in any case, my next video card won't be from ATI.
