Our printers are sophisticated and allow for us to set the IP address in the Menu of the printer, but most printers do not have an electronic control panel on them so you need a way to setup the IP addresses.

You do this via a print server, or DHCP would take care of this for you automatically so all you would have to do is plug in the printer to your network - w/o an IP address assigned to your printer it wont work.
