One of the BOINC projects, Gaia, does not, yet, have a Windows client. I would like to run its work for a while to see how it does. My machine here is running Windows 8.1 on an SSD which is prettyfull, I am frequently looking for stuff to delete. I have a second, quite small, (120GB), SSD. I figured I'd install the second SSD, and build a Linux virtual machine in something like Oracle Virtual Box and run the Linux BOINC system on that. Is that a sensible approach? Any problems you can foresee? Alternatively, a better approach?
