abachler 2012!!
I heard a set of interviews today done at some "tiger" club in Manhattan -- where the membership is for people with a net worth of $100 million + The founder of McAffee was there; apparently during the crash last year he went from $400 million to $4 million, but has earned his way back in I guess. He kept talking about how the crash made him realize he was a totally superficial selfish pig who owned two Cartier watches worth $17,000 a piece "while half the world is starving". Like he really put it that way, the only word he didn't use was "pig".
Strangely, despite his apparent misgivings, he didn't even imply that he intended to change. Smarmy garbage to the letter, every single one of them.

Absolutely. No doubt. I completely agree on how widespread and acceptable HYPOCRISY is in western society.
Altho -- and I am not much of a U2 fan -- I think Bono (like Bill Gates) is very very exceptional, as far as multi-millionaires go, with his efforts to actually do something significant. Way more so than any of the Beatles or Rolling Stones, or 99.4% of the "Fortune 500", AFAICT.
They are light years ahead of the "Rockefeller" types, who play the public for fools by donating land (here, there, and everywhere) to become high profile but trivial parks with their name on it, as if they were actually philanthropists. It would take both hands for me to count the number of parks I have seen in my life named "Rockerfeller", which clearly this practice went on for generations, at the same time as they threw money into draconian lobbies which keep "the masses" impovrished, or imprisoned. I guess the idea was to seem nice enough because after a lifetime of behaving properly and making money for them, you could hang out on a bench and feed pidgeons.
Unfortunately, the majority of the public will always have an absurd respect for the very wealthy -- otherwise they would not exist

Could have worded it better I agree. It's to do with cotton as an environmental issue.
