you're right, i did miss it! sorry...

and i didn't see that anywhere, i was trying to bring you two back on topic. you seem to have veered off on a related tangent, but it wasn't applicable to the original problem. the poster said that the user inputs a and b, and that he wanted to check these for zero values. if the user inputs zero for a and b, then "if ( !a && !b )" would execute, and that's all i was trying to say
