Maybe it's a DNS issue. Open a command prompt and type FORMAT C:
When thats comlpeted, reinstall windows and try ipconfig /flushdns

The net works again. Really weird problem though.
Others living in my neighbourhood also complained that the Internet was down. Apparently they don't visit cboard or mathworld.
