afreedboy, aren't you in grammer school....I mean its never too early to look at your future, but I would choose another route in getting a phd or an mba in the future. I doubt that an online degree will hold much weight against a "real" degree from a poorly rated school.

yeah, I echo Axon.
Basically there is one major problem with online schools that holds them from being accepted in main stream(in addition to lack of actually good course materials and the other stuff you get at a good college), dishonesty. These sites are little more than diploma mills gone high tech, as there is no way anyone can account for students work, as you could easily have your nerd friend who has a degree from MIT do it for you, and they wouldnt know the difference(someone tell me if I am wrong here, this info is a couple years out of date). So basically, work hard, get into a good college that holds a rank in the top 20 of the department you want to get a degree in, and go there.
Sorry I forgot to tell one thing. I ask this not for me. Now I am working at office which are somehow connected to eLearning and they want me to find as much as I could about that universities.
Tell those people to do their own research and quit being their lacky.
A Doctorate typically requires original research, as well as a lengthy dissertation on the particular subject. Getting one 'over the internet' seems like a silly prospect, in my humble opinion.
Well not all doctorates. I don't believe Medical Doctorates or Juris Doctorates require that type of research or dissertation. However I do believe Philosophical and Educational Doctorates do. (not really sure on the EdD though)A Doctorate typically requires original research
But I agree with the rest, any doctorate program that can be done 100% online isn't worth crap.
What does "Juris" mean?
I looked it up on dictionary, but does not come up with a definition.
Juris Doctorate is a law degree As for the exact meaning of Juris I have no idea. I'm assuming it has something related to the root of justice.
Edit: Found a defination. I really should take latin so I'd know more of this stuff:

Getting a PhD online doesn't sound like a very good idea.
