This is one of the most excellent ideas I've seen for a while. Much better than just deleting those threads, and newbies will likely go to an FAQ board before they go read the FAQ (which might be just as well).
Good one!

Ever seen a group of FAQS that werent read only?
OK, sorry! I haven't gone to it yet, so I don't know what kind of FAQ is it, because I have never seen a FAQ as a board, because FAQ's are readonly, and boards are read-write, so I think that they're incompatible

read the "welcome to the FAQ board" post in there.
Ah nuts, a static-started thread is there. The FAQ
board reminds me of a remedial class; a place
where slow students go when they need help with
relatively easy problems. Thanks for advertising
my imbecility!

great idea..... but mods please keep it tidy otherwise it will see about as much use as the other things marked FAQ.
Free the weed!! Class B to class C is not good enough!!
And the FAQ is here :- http://faq.cprogramming.com/cgi-bin/smartfaq.cgi
Can we get a Thread there for Sockets/Winsock tutes ect?
About as annoying in the Win board as 'Clear the screen' in the C board.
