I'd say it is impossible to tell. Your icons can be misleading. They could be the apps they represent ex: Microsoft Word or they could be a shortcut to something like oo. I am going to guess Linux with an aqua theme. If it is what desktop environment are you using.
I dunno. I guessed mac..thought I saw an apple.
Or was that a red herring?
Such is life.
I vote Windows because of the PuTTY icon.
guess what OS I am on

AOL IM: neandrake, Email: neandrake (at) gmail (dot) com
i dunno...maybe when people get desperate enough, lol....um....after 15 replies or so i think i will reveal it

linuxdude - i think yours is linux
[/edit]
eh...i guess i will go ahead and say it...
it is Windows XP
Ah crap-I was a mile off
Such is life.
I think that's some kind of winblows with an aqua theme...
They say that if you play a Windows Install CD backwords, you hear satanic messages. That's nothing; play it forward and it installs Windows.
I would say its Windows XO running one of those theme tools to change the look and feel...

Naturally I didn't feel inspired enough to read all the links for you, since I already slaved away for long hours under a blistering sun pressing the search button after typing four whole words! - Quzah
You. Fetch me my copy of the Wall Street Journal. You two, fight to the death - Stewie
lol last two posters-he had already given us the answer.
And David, why does my XP not look like that? What is it?
Such is life.
you need two programs:
WindowBlinds and ObjectDock
you also need to get the Mac OS X theme file.
http://www.stardock.com/ is the website to download all 3. WindowBlinds and ObjectDock can also be found on CNET.
There are also several other apps by stardock that do even more.
You can make your computer look like a completely different OS. It is quite fun.
