I was at a car dealers today looking for a new car, (well I wouldn't have been looking for a toaster there would I). I noticed an old Mustang, and as I wandered over to look at it, I turned a corner and found a cornucopia of classic cars lined up, all immaculate, (and very expensive). One particulaly caught my eye, a 1968 Ford Cortina Mk II, okay, only a 1300 De Luxe, not a 1600E but a Mk II.
When I passed my driving test in 1976, the Mk II was the babe magnet. Everyone my age wanted one, as a result they were rare, (espeacially the 1600E with the walnut dashboard). Still, it was great to "pat" an old friend again. If I had a big enough garage to properly care for such a machine, I would have paid cash for it on the spot.
