Yeah, I subscribe to their mailing list. It should be cool. They are rewriting primarily for stability though, and thats something I've never had problems with.
I was hoping against hope that the new version of Dev would allow you the choice between the GNU and Borland compiler tools.
They are switching to makefile based compilation, so I you might get your wish dark.
Any plans to allow direct addressing? I thought da said that 4.0 couldn't do that, and that's why he switched to DJGPP

"They are switching to makefile based compilation"
GREAT !!!
The Dev-C++ IDE is one of the best, if not the best of the freeware C++ IDE applications around ( I think anyway ). The ability to use several different sets of compiler tools will greatly enhance that software's popularity !
I agree with Darkstar. The IDE on Dev-C++ is the best...I hope they can make it a little less like VC++ though...
Think out of the box! Open Source rules!

at least it's ANSI though, ... at least.. i think it's ANSI
I just hope you don't have to use getch() or system("PAUSE") anymore.
Ramble on...
ooo, i hope that they let you choose what compiler to compile with... then i'll finally be able to do allegro without tearing my hair out at DJGPP and trying to figure out why it isn't working.
i'm sorry if i'm being redundant..
