Why buying books when you can borrow from library?
to keep it as referrance
If you've already bought it, isn't it a bit late to be asking if it is any good?
Before buying any book, I always read the reviews at Amazon for example - after a while, you get to know what is likely to be good and what are simply crap reviewers.
Wave upon wave of demented avengers march cheerfully out of obscurity unto the dream.
I recently bought "Effective STL", and "Modern C++ Design". I am around page 100 on Effective STL, and have yet to really look in Modern C++ Design.
Both got pretty nice reviews.

I wish these books were at my library. Too bad my library pretty much sucks for anything beyond beginner's programming books (although I did pick up "Thinking In Java" my library), which was nice, if not terribly advanced.
best MFC book for reference and learning...
MFC Programming with MS-VC++ 6.0 - Unleashed
Now you tell me im on page 60 and didnt really learn CRAP. Aww man 60 bucks down the drain
I could never buy a book. That's because if I'd buy a book, I'd want to use it to the max, read all of it that is, but I'm too lazy for that.
