C in Windows comparing Unix & Linux?

Thanks for your answers. But I have another question.

How many programmers use C in Windows rather than Unix or Linux?

I think most programmers prefer Unix or Linux.

    How about you?

    Thanks.

I don't think that is true.

Commercial pressure dictates what most professional programmers use. If the customer specifies a Windows solution, then you either provide one, or don't get the contract. Today, (for desk top systems at least), Windows is specified by the majority of commercial organisations, and is likely to be so for the near future.

I think a great many hobby programmers begin with DOS and Windows, because that is what is on their machine. Often more interested amateurs will install Linux and play with that. There is also a somewhat fanatical anti MicroSoft faction that will always choose ANYTHING that is not MS even if the MS equivalent is easier!
