a few ppl have already asked this question so try a board search. You could also search MSDN im sure they would have something there about it... look for NOTIFYICONDATA. There is also a program on planet-source-code.com that loads a tray icon with a popup menu.

BTW, task bar icons are not what you're looking for, they're called "System Tray Icons".
