    project photo-browser/editor ...

    i plan to write a photo-browser/editor for windows ...

    compiler used is devcpp.

after 10 years of c and another 5 years of php/mysql i need a little help to step in again to windows-programming
i want to code in c not c++, dont have the spare time to learn the stuff for that.

does anyone have some sample code to start such a project or tips for a usable library to use for something like this?

needed functions are directory-browsing, thumbnail-generating, quick fullscreen-browsing, rotating, unsharp mask, printing contact-sheets ...

the programm will be simple and fast to use, without things to play around, just to help photographers to do their daily work fast. extended editing will be done with photoshop, the tool is for sorting and quick deleting, rotating and other things ...

i think there will be a usable lib for this (maybe imagemagick?), the main work for me will be creating a usable interface to the user. i am working with photographers a long time now, they still have no perfect tool for that, dealing with acdsee or something ...

all those programs have the same problem:
handling thousands of photos (>10000) makes them slow because of silly and crappy database-functions and funny user interfaces that fetch most of the cpu-time ...
