Lightbulb should I go up a level

I'm 13 in high school, and I'm learning from the web. I know the Main bits of C++, but I'm not completely confident.

I've been looking at Win32, and it looks like something good to learn, however I don't know whether I should or get really good at console programmes first.

    Thanks

What kind of applications are you looking to write? My best bet is you need to know more on structures and/or algorithms depending on what kind of applications you want to make. Learning the Win32 can be tedious and take a long time, there are tons of API function calls. The best way I've found to learn these is by experience.
