msvc6 says 'does not' when it actually means 'does' ie MessageBox does take 4 parameters.
Without seeing the line in question it's impossible to suggest a correction. Take a look at Magos's example (last post in this thread) for a recent example of the use of MessageBox. Search this board for heaps of others.

You are mixing raw API functions and MFC, you should avoid this unless you know what you are doing. The MFC MessageBox() function does not need the first parameter.
This is a classic example of why posting ENOUGH code, or a good description of your problem is a good idea. From the question, and even the second message, an answer was not actually possible.
