I'm interested in how a firewall is created. Yes, I've checked out the Winsock SPI reference on MSDN. Personally, I find it cryptic and am asking for a further explanation. Just a basic where to start should suffice.

Yeah, I know that SPI documentation is pretty weak....but if you follow the "layered" (I think that's what it's called) example they give, you should be able to get to grips with it - I didnt though....I gave it a glance and decided I couldnt be bothered
There are other ways - some confined to newer platforms, some requiring a driver
