I finished the program that i've been converting to win32 (that's why I've been asking so many questions). It's a pretty nice program and very easy to use. What it does is loads in any 24-bit bmp, and then when you tell it to convert, it averages the colors of the pic in to one shade, and you can modify it if you want, and then it outputs the picture to a text file, EXACTLY as it is in the bmp (except with only two layers, so it's like a black-and-white remake)

but overall, the program is best used for making readmes and also just to make notepad art because it saves a lot of time
