    OpenScript v1.1 released!

ok, OpenScript v1.1 has been officially released now. (I pseudo released it a few days ago, but the help file wasn't finished, and now it is)

The new features of v1.1 are as such:
    If statements are now supported
Help file has been completely updated
    5 more commands
support for loading and displaying textures
    printing text to the screen
    setting colors
    including other files
    drawing ANY type of polygon
Included vars.ost has all of the currently needed basic variables for drawing objects and etc.
Included Help File should have more than enough documentation for all commands and errors.
I will also be releasing more tutorials over the next week, and probably adding either the sound or file i/o support

you can download the file here:
    http://ivgda.skylockgames.com/latest...0Installer.zip
oh, one side not, make sure that you SAVE and not open the file, otherwise it'll probably say that it's corrupt. So when it pops up and asks save | open | cancel, hit save and save it to your hard drive first!

or you can visit the site itself, where you can download the help file separately if you want to. It is in the Latest_Programs area under OpenScript v1.1

Please try this language out and tell me what you think, I'm looking for feedback and also anyone who wants to develop with OpenScript (some basic demos). I'll be uploading the demos I've made recently so you can see the "power" of OpenScript

Kinda sucks to have a demo that does nothing but lock up your computer with a black screen that doesn't allow you to ESC or alt-tab or windows-key or ctrl-alt-del out of it.

    Interesting, nonetheless.

interesting, hey Jverkoey, what compiler do you use, and whats your system, cause several of your other programs just lock up my screen and force me to manual reboot.

hmmm, now that I think about it, are you using NT or XP? if so, then your programs might not be compatible with windows 9x based systems.

well, i don't know why it's locking up like that, but first off, i'm betting most of you are trying to run the OpenScript.exe lol.....just so you know, it's an interpreter, so if you try and run it, you're technically trying to pass empty data to it, and of course it's going to crash......

that's why you make ost files and run those, because they get run through the interpreter lol

just thought i'd clear that up, and hopefully it fixes some people's problems

and I use MS visual studio 6.0, and i've so far tested it on xp pro, xp home and 98, and it has worked flawlessly on all of 'em.....

so, just as long as you follow the directions, lol, everything works fine

Actually I didn't try to run the interpreter. I opened the .ost files. One of the demo files (the one with only the start and end lines) is what locked me up.

im talking like for example your Mongoose demo, that froze up both my computers, even the one I just installed windows on, so its not there being crapped files on it.

well, i had a friend test out OpenScript on his comp, and it worked completely fine (and he has a laptop).....also, i've tested it on 98 computers and it also works fine

now, about the games, the mongoose demo isn't really that good, me 'n kasten were just kinda messing around seeing what we could do so there might be glitches, but every other game should work fine on all windows systems.

so, i don't know what's happening with your puter's and why it's crashing.............
