    unique windows

I am tired of having square windows on all of my windows apz. I was wondering how I could create custom windows for my applications like those of realplayer, windows media player, and winamp? How would I make for instance a football shaped window?

Regions. You'll need a Polygon region for a given window.

I know a little about a small slice of what a programmer can know. Nothing more. Actually I'm very much limited to Win32, C++, ASP.

oh and didn't mean to get snippy.

Well it's not like C++ and the WinApi are small things to learn and I'm sure anyone who has that under his/her belt can learn basically anything. But also if you go out and learn EVERYTHING then you'll have nothing new to learn!

I'm starting to get into the WinApi so you will be my savior from now on so I wouldn't be starting crap with you...I was just poking fun (I do that a lot of the time to people, esp in person)

    Snippy? Nah!

I'll help where I can and I'm sure you'll get a lot of help from Fordy along the way. At the risk of getting attacked by someone I'll just go ahead, Win32 is actually really fun when you get the hang of it.

Cool , I added flipcode to my bookmarks. My only dilemma is whether to do regular old winapi or do MFC. I should just do both. Hey fill do you know any development under any other platforms?

only if DOS counts. I would love to get into others but my company isn't into anything besides windows. I could do it on the side if it weren't for the whole spend time with my family thing
