    Need help making an image the background for the window created by my c++ program

    I am very new to C++. This is my code thus far, it's messy because I have tried so many things I have found online to try and make an image, which is titled global8000.bmp , the background for the window this code creates. Nothing has worked. I am using Dev C++ 5.11. Can someone please outline step by step what to do to accomplish this (basically hold my hand lol, tell me where certain things should go in the code) and ensure that there are no compile errors?:

    Code:
    #include <windows.h>
    #include<conio.h>
    #include <gdiplus.h>
    #include <iostream>

    #define ID_BTN 1
    #define ID_TEXTBOX 2

    /*  Declare Windows procedure  */
    LRESULT CALLBACK WindowProcedure (HWND, UINT, WPARAM, LPARAM);

    #define IDBUTTON 102

    /* Make the class name into a global variable */

                        HINSTANCE hPrevInstance,

                        int nFunsterStil) {
        HWND hwnd; /* This is the handle for our window */
