Compatibility of Borland C++ Builder 6.0 and Windows 8.1

Hello, I have been using Borland C++ Builder 6.0 Professional with Windows 7 Professional 64-bit on my Mac via Bootcamp. Is this version of Borland C++ fully compatible with Windows 8.1? Is it advisable to get Windows 7 64-bit Professional instead?

Why are you still using such an outdated software still is what I want to ask. It would be better to get a modern toolchain which is guaranteed to work on Windows 8.1.
