    corrupt drivers - please help

During a forced shutdown of my Acer Aspire 5100 laptop, both the modem and audio got totally disabled. I'm assuming the drivers are corrupt. The device manager doesn't even acknewledge the existance of either one. Is it possible they are part of the motherboad itself? I tried googling, but with no luck. So I come here. How would I find the nessesary drivers to get them back up and running??

Modem and audio are almost certainly integrated in the motherboard. I don't see how the drivers can be corrupted, and even if they were, the hardware manager ought to at least display the hardware. A better guess is that they got disabled in BIOS.

My BIOS doesn't have any settings like that. It only controls Date, Boot Sequence, and Passwords. So, if they are part of the motherboard, would re-installing it's drivers fix the problem? On the other hand, if the drivers are okay then what could be wrong? Could those parts of the MB be fried?

Solved. My original suspection saw right, the drivers where corrupt. With time, I was able to find them on the net for both my sound and modem.
