    AAC 5.1 to AC3 5.1

Can anyone tell me how to convert AAC 5.1 to AC3 5.1 with bit rates upto 448kbps?

That's silly. Why would do do that?

It is not at all silly! I have a MKV file with AAC 5.1 audio. I want play in DivX player so I need to convert the audio into AC3 5.1 and the x264 video into DivX.

All in all -> silly. To unmake something of greater into something of less.
To rewrite a program in C++ in VB.
But I suggest you take a look at forum.doom9.org -> I'm sure you'll find lots of information there.

Compatibility is not a bad reason to do a conversion.

Just consider it comparing lower quality sound to no sound at all.

I don't find it amusing at all. Converting top-of-the-notch compression and sound into something lower quality and older. Plus a re-encode WILL result in lower quality, no matter what you do. That's the way of lossy encodes.

I don't like the idea, but good luck. Doom9 is the forum for audio & video compression.
