    Printer problem +

    Hi i've got 2 questions:

    1) My HP Deskjet printer has this thing with the color Red . When i print a full color image, it prints a large part of the img in Red, except for some small stripes hear and there in natural color. When i print black text, most of it also comes out as Red text. Now short time ago, when i tried to print out a lengthy book in the 'Fast Draft' mode, the paper got stuck inside the roller. Could this have damaged the cartridge so now it prints only in one color???

    2) Sorry if it's not the right place for this: Installed VC++ 2005 Express edition. But when i try to edit a dialogbox, it says that it cannot edit resources. Anyone know a solution for this (instead of uninstalling it )? what good of a ide if it cannot resource edit?

    thx

Well to answer the first point, check your menus, or right-click on the systray icon (if present).
My deskjet had a diagnostic / maintenance option which included nozzle cleaning and alignment functions.
If you dance barefoot on the broken glass of undefined behaviour, you've got to expect the occasional cut.
If at first you don't succeed, try writing your phone number on the exam paper.

Or it could be that you are out of ink on one or more of the C(yan)M(agenta)Y(ellow)(blac)K colours, perhaps? [Probably NOT the Magenta, as that's an important part of "Red"].

Try printing something that is Cyan (green and blue), Magenta (red + blue), Yellow(green + blue) and see if they appear at all.

If the printout is stripey, then it's a case of blocked nozzles, which the head clean should fix. Try another head clean, and if that doesn't work, I'm afraid you need a new head (which may be part of the cartridge or a separate unit depending on which brand/model of printer you have).
