    Solaris 10

    Is Solaris free OS like Linux? In the Homepage of Solaris they are telling download it for free!

    Solaris 10 is available to use free of charge. Sun's in the hardware and support business.

    It doesn't have a Linux-style copyleft license I believe, but it's just a matter of time.

    I tried Solaris 10 once on my system. It took a couple hours to install and when it finally did... it wouldn't boot. I don't see what there is going for it at this point except maybe the license. "Java Desktop" is just KDE if I'm not mistaken. Nothing to do with Java at all.

    It's based on Gnome, doesn't mean it doesn't have anything to do with java

    Although the FAQ suggests otherwise,
