Sound card error: Driver not found

Today, all of a sudden, my sound card stopped working. It worked fine about an hour ago. All I did was reboot the computer . . .

When I run a program of mine that requires an audio device, I get an SDL_GetError() error message of "Driver not found".

I'm using Windows XP (*gasp*) and have a "Realtek AC '97" audio controller.

    Any suggestions?

I wouldn't quite know. Check the device manager. If there's a problem, it would normally expand everything as needed to show whatever has the problem. Those that are problematic have a triangle with an exclamation point in it.
High elevation is the best elevation. The higher, the better the view!

Check the cables. Make sure it isn't muted. Try another pair of speakers.

Not sure he'd get a 'driver not found' error just because it's muted or the speakers don't work...

It's either device failure OR driver issues, or both

    Hmm, I thought I had posted in here already . . .

Well, after rebooting and disabling and re-enabling then rebooting, somewhere in there it got fixed. Thanks anyway.
