Thumbs up programs with the most power

This is round 2 in everyone's input about, programs with the <<blank>> <<blank>>. lol... (last time it was, programs with the best userinterface)

This post is to get peoples idea about programs that are most powerful. Meaning that may not have the best interface, but you can do the most with them.

In my opinion one program that is a great example is adobe photoshop 7.
It has many text and writting tools and filters that making images take no time at all in the rights hands.

    Anyones input is welcome.
    Compiler in use: MinGW

    OS: Windows ME

    ART:
Jasc Paint Shop pro 9 - one of the best to date for photo editing. Amazing what this software can do
    PROGRAMMING:
Miscrosoft Visual Studio.net - Incorperates VBasic, C++ and Java all in one package. I know its a litlle dated now, but I havent seen anything that beats it.
    WORD PROCESSING:
Microsoft Word - If anyone knows a better program for proffesional word prossing Id love to hear about it. MS Word is top notch.

EDIT All these suggestions are based on the software I currently own.
    Double Helix STL

The most power? I'll go for NASM, the Netwide Assembler. Given enough time, you can do absolutely anything with it
    All the buzzt!

Open Office. After you lay aside your word brainwashing. . . there is nothing better (unless you jump into professional publishing apps -- but who has the 3000 USD to own that sort of stuff??).
