Need a basic Linux web page designer (editor)

I'm looking for a very basic web page editor to build a fairly simple Linux website. The site will contain some basic text, an image or two and the ability to download assorted files from the web site. Anybody have any suggestions for a basic tool to develop a mimimal site? Bottomline, is that I want to get the site up ASAP. So, I don't have the luxury of learning a complex site designer tool.

You could have a look at the free software thread instead of having everybody list their favorite editors.

I have a Linux server running and I would like create a simple web page on this server for end users to download various files. I guess I'm looking for the Linux equivalent of Frontpage. Ideally, something along the lines of Web page design software for dummies.

    EDIT:

I found what I am looking for... BlueFish. It's pretty much point and click.

You mean a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor? http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&q=linux+wysiwyg&meta=

I believe that Netscape has one, so perhaps the Linux versions of Netscape or Firefox do.

    [edit] Here are a few.

    WYSIWYG editor lists:

    dwks,

Nvu is exactly what I need. I have absolutely no experience in web page (website) design but yet I can get a web page up and running in a few minutes with this app.

    THANX!!!
