    Ethereal Capture

    I have just captured me coming to this site and then set up a Follow TCP Stream, and something odd came up:
    bbpassword=4______________________________a;
    bbsessionhash=fd315276b8b87588bafdc14a4ba0cdba;
    Is this a problem or is this well encrypted?

    Answer: It is when you post it on a public forum!

    Encrypted, then converted to hex-ascii for transport.
    If you dance barefoot on the broken glass of undefined behaviour, you've got to expect the occasional cut.
    If at first you don't succeed, try writing your phone number on the exam paper.

    Aha! Your password is nothing but a big long string of hex digits! You're mine now!

    ...yes...

    On most forums it's simply an MD5 hash of your password.
