Brand new PC. 'No Input Signal'

I just put together a new PC and when I turn it on the screen just says 'No Input Signal'. I am using the monitor Acer AL2016W and the graphics card SAPPHIRE 100149 Radeon X1900XT 512MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16. The refresh rate on my graphics card is higher than that of the screen, but there is no way I can configure it because of the monitor problem and no OS has been installed yet. I also am using the motherboard: ASUS A8R32-MVP Deluxe Socket 939 ATI CrossFire Radeon XPRESS 3200 ATX AMD. I have looked for several solutions on google. None of them worked. They were things like "change the slot the RAM sticks are in", "change the slot Graphics Card is in", and "Disconnect all cables from the motherboard so it can reset". I really want to get this display working. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like a video card problem. How many outlets does it have? If more than one try to change to the other outlet. Also nudge the cable a little. It could also be a screen cable problem.

I have a converter connect to the one of the two DVI ports on the video card to convert it to VGA. I made sure the cables were on right and everything. It's not a screen cable problem because I am currently using the screen on a different computer. I already tried switching between the outlets. I also tried a different converter. It still didn't work.

Theres' no beep immediatly after powering the computer is there?
If not, then get the video card from that other computer, place it on the new one and see if that works. If it does...

There isn't a beep. I can't take that video card off because it's an onboard card.

Sorry... I should have been asking the obvious, do you see any sign of activity when you turn it on? Fans rotating, and most important, the hard drive firing up?

I'm assuming here you knew what you were doing when you put the computer together... so I'm not going to even enter into the field of fried motherboards, or anything like that.

EDIT: Oh... and doesn't matter if it's on-board. You can still place the other card if you have a slot free (AGP or PCI)

Yes, all the fans are turning. The one on the processor, the power supply, the graphics card, and the two on the case. Yes, the hard drive fires up.

no beep, and hard disks fire up... vid card mate. Again, I almost bet.
I'll leave you to try that other card on it. Don't forget to move the cable to the new one

Maybe others will be able to help more. Good luck. I know it must be painful. Nice video card btw. Just saw the specs.

Sounds like the onboard video is defective. Do you have a card you can put in one of the available slots? If it works fine, try contacting the place you got it from. They might replace it. If not, the manufacturer surely will.

Looks like you're getting them a little mixed up. The one I just built isn't the one with the onboard video. I'm going to probably send it back to Newegg. In case anyone is interested the processor on it is an AMD 64 X2 4800+ with 2x1MB L2 cache. It has 2, 1 GB sticks of RAM.
