    Memory Stick ...

Hi, I wanted to use my memory stick the other day, and I found out to my horror that it had died. If I put it into my computer, it somewhat recognises it, but it says that it's capacity is 0kb, and the free space is 0kb. That isn't right, it should be 256 MB (it's old), and perhaps 100 MB is taken up.

Does anyone know if there's a way to retrieve the info on it? There are useful things on it which I don't want to loose!

    Thanks for any advice!!

You mean apart from typing in the obvious
    "memory stick recovery" into google?

    Here's one I prepared earlier
    http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=Memory+Stick+recovery
If you dance barefoot on the broken glass of undefined behaviour, you've got to expect the occasional cut.
If at first you don't succeed, try writing your phone number on the exam paper.

Well obviously google was my first choice, thanks for the link though. It was much more eloquent than my 'Memory stick fixer', but I got one which, seemingly, works, but unfortunately it can't find the .cpp extension, which was the main reason why I wanted it.

Either way, new problem: I lost my mem-stick It's prob in my room somewhere. Anyone got any ideas on finding it Here's the Memory Stick Recovery thing, if anyone's interested.

If you recently cleaned your room or someone else did, check the vacuum cleaner's bag. Thats how I almost lost my memory stick ...

Good idea, but it's unlikely I've only been in the room for ... a month, and it's not all that messy. But it is messy enough for a mem stick (which I was quite attached to. It was called 'Mighty Drive'), to get lost. Ah well, I guess I'll have to get a new one to get over the mourning. Perhaps a nice gig one.

It's between the mattress and the side of the bed. It's always between the mattress and the side of the bed.

I checked there before I checked in google ( For once no help ). I'll look for it tomorrow, and if I find it, and the memory stick recovery thing works, I'll tell ye about it. Or else I'll scream and look for another one. And if anyone's in the highlands, ye'll hear me!

You said it. I've got a bar of soap in there, and my MP3 player's cover in there too, if I remember correctly.

Most of my stuff is "on or around my desk" where around includes about 5ft in any given direction. None of it is organized to the naked eye... but I know where stuff is.

Well, I sit in the same boat as you, Wraithan. Minus the 5ft radius, that is. It's all mostly thrown about my desk or in drawers. No one can find things but me. I can safely say I will not find any of my stuff in a vacuum bag or between my mattress and the side of the bed, though.

Oh how true, except for my memory (stick). I'm currently living at home, well not for this summer, but during the un-summer months, and my mother doesn't understand how everything is all over the place, but I know where everything is. Except for my MightyDrive Honestly, the previous generation doesn't understand anything
