Ok, this may sound like an odd request, but I was wondering (after googling this for a long time) if it is possible to add new Start Menu Items, where My Documents, My Computer, My Pictures, and the rest of those folders are. I know I can redirect the My Documents to any folder I want to, but that doesn't solve my problem because I, from time to time, need access to My Documents and would prefer to just click that folder.
I am running Windows XP SP2. Any help would be appreciated.
I was wondering the same thing, and I think if you click on the ... well I don't know what one may call it ... the ... thing on the bottom of the screen, where the start button is, but the blue part (get me), click on properties, click on one of the tabs there and look around you should be able to do it there. Alternatively, you could put some quick links on that blue thing I was on about earlier - right click again, toolbars, new toolbar click on a folder or whatever you want there. You could create a folder which has shortcuts to all the places you might want to go to.
EDIT: I'm on my laptop now, so I can tell you what I did for the first solution:
right click -> Properties -> Start Menu -> Custimise -> Advanced -> Then there's the list of things you can put there. I don't see any way of putting in custimised ones, but you can link in my documents, so you can access anything there.

Aye I know about that too. I consider myself a power user on the windows, but I cant figure this one out for the life of me.
Add a link into C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu (or equivalent)?

A good registery hack would do it, too. I used Windows 2000 Registery For Dummies. It's a great book for customizing Windows. But always, always remember: Back up your registery before modifying!. (I admit I've never backed up my registery, but they were small hacks.)
That adds it in the Programs section, which is still not what I was looking for. I am going to hunt around in the registry a bit tmr or the next day and see if I can find it in there.
