    Splitting MPEG Videos - API

    Does anyone know of an API that I can use on *nix/*BSD that will take an mpeg video file ask for the start and end time and split the movie on those values ? (leaving me with the original and the chunk)

    The search is proving harder than I originally though ...

    I believe GIMP (via script-foo) has this ability. I've never used it though.
