This is crazy. i have no power to my compuer, the switch of my power supply is turned off, all my LED cables are unplugged, but my green power LED is on. ?!?

anybody have this happen to them before? not so much a big problem, just cool, and thought i'd tell everybody.

edit: and it's not a reflection either

Have you unplugged the power cord to see if it turns off? If the switch to your PSU is off but there is still power then that could be bad. Doesn't sound like it is anything bad unless your computer starts to randomly shut off, not turn on or other stuff like that.

Neat! I found out what it was. every time i put the case close to the monitor, the led came on, and when i remeoved it, dimmed. I know there are magnet's in monitors, but ( to those physisits out there) why would it make the led come on? Something about the electrical field or something?

If your monitor manages to do that to the inside of your computer I'd start worrying about your hard drive if I were you.

Is it really that hard to spell physicists?

Umm, it could be that the electromagnetic radiation is strong enough to power the LED, they don't need that much power, and you can get a suprising amount of energy from wires, etc.

I've seen it before... well what I saw was that it was risidual power from some capacitors in the system, or ESD from the atmosphere...

edit: then again the LED was still wired to the mobo... and incorrectly, I might add.
