DVD playback error [Media Player 9]

Iv'e been trying to get Media Player 9 to play DVDs. I first got an error about not having a DVD codec. I then proceeded to download a codec pack. Now i'm getting errors about the screen resolution and depth. It says to lower the resolution and color depth. So I lowered it as far as I could (800x600x16), and it still won't work. Am I missing somthing?

Dunno if its relevent, but i'm using a Radeon 9600XT 256MB, btw.
