Try rebooting the computer into safe mode, then running norton.

You also might want to consider trying AVG Grisoft for an anti-virus.

You don't have to switch to it, but running a second one as a backup can be helpful. I used to run AVG and AVAST!, and things one didn't pick up, the other did.

To get rid of your virus, just reboot in safe mode and run the scan.

The way I know how to get to safe mode is to go to Start-->Run...-->type msconfig-->ok-->boot.ini-->under boot options, /SAFEBOOT

When you restart, you should be in safe mode. Just do the same thing and unclick /SAFEBOOT when you are done with what you need to do in safe mode, then restart.

Hehe....you can go in to Best Buy and boot their computers up in to safe mode and mess with the passwords just to throw them off

Nope, I just did it the other day, in about 5 minutes I had reset the passwords on 2 of their computers.

I should try that some time. I bet it took them a few hours to figure out what you did to them.

Most stores in my area don't keep computers logged in for customers, I think this is probably why...

    Hah...I should try that.

Might be even funnier to change the admin password, lock the C drive and walk away.

It's F8. No reason to go messing with boot.ini just to boot into Safe Mode one time.

I've got AVG - I'll check on the vault thing when I get home. If you can't delete it from there, I'd just assume it's quarantined, but I'll let you know in a few hours.

Click on the file in the vault and hit "Wipe this file"
