    Strange Keyboard

I am having a very strange problem. On one of my other computers the keyboard has randomly stopped functioning as it normally should. Now only about 1/3 of the keys are working and all other keys when pressed do nothing (actually some of the buttons produce a beep). If anyone has any ideas toward a solution it would be appreciated.

    1. Reboot the machine - maybe the OS has simply lost the plot
    2. Try another keyboard - say one you know is working on another machine.
Both take no more than a couple of minutes to try.

If at first you don't succeed, try writing your phone number on the exam paper.

Sorry about that...I thought of every problem possible other than simply the keyboard. Maybe I'll replace it with a wireless one.

    EDIT
Acually it was a long time coming...that keyboard has been in use since '97

So you're already missing all those extra keys M$ has added to the keyboard
By my estimation, they can't release a new OS without adding a new key to the keyboard

I wouldn't go wireless unless you enjoy spending $$. Most wireless keyboards are a joke when it comes to battery life and durability unless you go top of the line (logitech, ms). You can get a decent keyboard for cheap and just get either a usb or ps2 extension cable (depending on the connection the keyboard uses).
