I assume you mean you have two ethernet cards one for each pc. Then all you need is a cross over cable to connect the two. Sharing files in Linux is definately not my strong point I think you to look into Samba (someone here will correct me if I am wrong )

Yes I have >> two ethernet cards one for each pc << and I got >> cross over cable <<.
    Ok!
I make this on Win2k but still the problems. OK! I configure in card TCP/IP -> I configured IP. On first 111.111.111.2 on second 111.111.111.3 and I make from first ping 111.111.11.3 and it worked.
But trouble is in share-ing files. I manage to ping. What next. How to make Visual connection so I can share files?
I go in my network places. I try to put a connection but when I make >> //computer_name << nothing.

As Bajanine said, all you have to do physically is use a crossover cable to connect the computers.

For Win to Win, you dont have to do anything as file sharing is built in. Just right click a folder, and share it. Then on the other computer, type in \\COMPNAME in an explorer window to see the shared files. Make sure the two computers are on the same subnet.

For Linux to Linux, I suggest using NFS (Network File System). This allows one box to mount the other's hard drive over the network.

For Linux to Win, you probably need SAMBA. I have SAMBA running as a file server on my linux box, and it probably took me an entire day to figure out how to set it up correctly. Probably the best way to learn to use SAMBA is to do an internet search for tutorials.

Didn't see your last post before I posted.

First of all, make sure the computer's subnet masks are set to 255.255.255.0. Next type in \\computer_name (note the backslashes instead of forward slashes) in an explorer window. Also make sure you have folders shared on the computer you want to retieve files from.
