manual deletion of just the offending exe alone, is non effective against any decent maliciously installed virus/trogan, or any really nasty spyware...

full format is the best option...

aside from that you cant even begin guarantee your getting everything... and even then sometimes....

Open up the task manager and research any unknown processes running on your pc. If you can find the offending process or processes it is generally quite easy to use google to find a method for removing the malicious virus, trojan, or spyware!

I would save a full format for a last resort in this case.

    Just my 2 cents.

BLASPHEMY! Begone from my C board, you foul lover of objects, before the gods of C cast you into the void as punishment for your weakness! There is no penance for saying such things in my presence. You are henceforth excommunicated. Never return to this house, filthy heretic!

Sometimes you can't kill processes on Windows. Access is usually denied in such cases.

Hes been infected on a Windows operating system, he needs to format. People who dont are the reason that all their friends get their viri through email and other junk. Windows cannot be saved after it is compromised, i dont care what programs you have. format it and move on, dont be half assed.
