Thread: Disk Is Full !

a better suggestion is, restart in ms-dos mode
type format c: then y to accept, have a cd ready
if you must a win98 disk, but prefably a xp or
linux disk, and redo your whole system, and then take
    care of it from there,

before you actualyl do any of this realize all data will be lost
    so back up anything important.

also dont do this if you dont have a bootable operating system
    disk.

also if this is not a option, if you are out of space and
are just tired of the warning that pops up there a way to
disable it, im not sure what the command is for win98
but i know one exsist, so just lookt hat up on google.

if you actually consider formating, and need additional advice or
help feel free to msg me on a instant messenger from my profile
    or pm me.

Reformatting is not always the best choice. Please do not suggest this to someone... especially if they do not even understand a "disk full" error.

    How about
    1. Empty the recycle bin
    2. Run Internet Explorer (or whatever browser you have) and empty the cache
    3. Delete downloaded files which you no longer need
    4. Deinstall programs which you no longer need.

If you have a network drive, how about asking your local network admin person for some help on these basic questions.
If you dance barefoot on the broken glass of undefined behaviour, you've got to expect the occasional cut.
If at first you don't succeed, try writing your phone number on the exam paper.

its a good option if you know what your doing, and jsut have a
bunch of junk on your system.

besides i gave a warning and told him to ask for help before
he attempts it not like i just said restart in dos and type that
with out any explantion to what it does.

I think the point was that, she doesn't really know what she's doing, otherwise she'd be able to figure out what "disk full" means (kinda obvious don't ya think guys ). Anyway, I think she needs to just step away from the computer and let someone else fix it.

wow....you guys were there, didn't I tell her to have someone else fix it? How much money did you spend on this new disk? And how exactly do you know your disk was bad?

    This isn't going anywhere.
Any remaining or new problems should be posted as new threads.
