    HELP! My pc doesn`t react when i click on My Computer

    When i click on my computer, my pc does nothing... What could be the cause of that? I tried a joke with my little sister, which involved editing the register, and making a new DWORD object called NoDrives, but when i tried to undo this, i accidentally erased the wrong DWORD object, called NoDrives with something behind it. I`m using Windows XP, could anybody please tell me which DWORD object that could be, and what it`s for, and how to recover it?

    I'm guessing it's a PEBKAC problem.

    The chair in question being yours.

    I guess now you know that editing registry is not just some "cover my arse" warning and it really does mean you can trash your system.

    > and how to recover it?
    If you're lucky - system restore
    If you're not - find your install disks

    I'm sorry... but if you're gonna randomly sign on to a programming forum and say "uh oh... I just FUBARed my computer while trying to play a prank... but oh wait... I don't know jack about what I'm doing... I'm just copying something from the web... HELP ME!!!111".... then I don't have much sympathy for you.

    and I love it when they never come back, even after I posted a link that has his answer...oh well, one less to deal with....you know we should have some kind of new member screening? Like a trial by fire period in which they have to make 10 meaningful posts/threads before they can have a full membership? And they can only post in the n00b section of the forums, so hence there'd be a n00b GD and a n00b TB, etc. I like it.

    ::edit::
    sorry....I just like saying n00b....
