I was taking out the screws of my cpu fan and i stripped the head so now it's no longer a star-head, but round. I want to replace the screws. Is it ok just the buy ordinary screws or are there special kinds ie. *can withstand high heat*

How did you strip the heads off of HSF screws?
As for needing special screws that can take heat... it's not necessary, you could use regular screws (that are the same size, obviously). The screws shouldn't be in very much contact with the heatsink anyway.
Thanks BMJ, another quetsion regarding my cpu. I want to take it off the mother board, just to clean it up a bit, remove any dust etc. I have a socket A slot and i don't know how to do this. It looks like theres two clamps securing the cpu/heatsink to the mobo, just don't know how to unhook them. Anybody know how, or some links?

If there's not a problem with it and you're not installing another CPU, I'd leave it right where it is. More than once the urge to "polish the fenders" has gotten me in trouble. You end up muttering under your breath "...why did I mess with the #*@$% thing?.."
oh boy... I really hope you didn't go through with this. I'm guessing this has to do with your other thread. DO NOT REMOVE YOUR CPU/HEATSINK TO CLEAN THEM!! BAD IDEA.
lmao!
this place gets better all the time...
