    fax machine to pc

    lets say i have a lexmark x215 (multi function printer)...what i want is to have a digital copy of the fax...so if lets say we receive a fax i want it to automaticaly get "downloaded" to the pc. I dont want to use a fax modem or anything...

    does anyone know if this is possible????

    fax modem is best bet. fax machines don't do that in general.

    Unless the sending fax machine is setup to use VOIP technology (dialing to a network/IP), then you're pretty much stuck. A fax modem would be your only route.

    not really, I have this modem and it screams. Usually connect at 45.2k.

    many users need to be able to fax a peice of paper that is not digitized (on the computer already)...and if theyre gonna scan it then they might as well just email the file as an attchmt.

    if a fax modem can do this than let me know

    I know you do, but a multifunction printer can't do what you want it to do...I'm confused on this whole thing, whats the deal with all of this anyway?

    tell them tough I am silly's because if it has to be in paper form then that's the way it has to be...I hate people like that. You shouldn't have to bend over backwards over something so trivial, papers get filed, that's how it works.
