lol... and yeah, to be cost effective, wired is still the way to go (and truth be known, I'm a big wired fan)... but I'm on the verge of replacing my wired router with a wireless one, and I'm honestly not concerned about the price differences, because they're getting to the point of being negligable. And you can still be wired for the most part. My home office computers will still be wired, by the computer at my entertainment center and my wife's laptop will be wireless.
Thanks fella's, I think I'm going to go with a linksys wireless router. it'll be easier than setting up the linux box.

Do some research on wireless router model you are going in for..And for linksys i would recommend that you load the firmware thats being developed by some open source group (for most models).. the firmware that comes from the company is known to be crap as it has many problems... and try to buy WiFi cards from the saem manufacturer since the new routers support the turbo mode if used with the same company cards.. the turbo mode supports upto 108mbps..
Also have a look at Netgear routers.. they are known to be good on performance.. I own a D-Link. It been quite good after the latest firmware updates.....
